Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 50-year-old male. My weight is 185 lbs. I am unable to lose fat despite following a proper diet and exercise. Is it good to use an L-carnitine supplement? Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

L-carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid that helps our body that converts fat into energy. It is available as a dietary supplement and is often marketed as a weight loss aid. There is some evidence that L-carnitine can help with weight loss. It is also important to note that L-carnitine is not a miracle weight loss pill. It will not help you lose weight if you are not following a healthy diet and exercise routine. In your case, since you are already following a healthy diet and exercise routine, it is unlikely that L-carnitine will help you lose any more weight. However, it may help you feel more energetic and may improve your athletic performance. Here are some tips for losing weight and keeping it off:

  1. Eat a healthy diet that is low in calories and fat.
  2. Exercise regularly.
  3. Get enough sleep.
  4. Manage stress.
  5. Find a support system.
  6. Losing weight and keeping it off can be challenging, but it is possible. With hard work and dedication, you can reach your weight loss goals.

Thank you.
