It has been over two months now that I am experiencing this issue. I have excess oily skin and lots of pimples and acne on my face. My lips are darkened over time. It has worsened now. I am using Benzoyl peroxide 2.5 % ointment. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly understand your concern.

I hope you have not been picking on any of the lesions, as that will lead to deep scars and pigmentation. You need to follow a routine of cleansing, sunscreen, and creams daily. Cleanse your face with Cetaphil cleansing lotion (Aqua, Cetyl alcohol, and Propylene glycol) for acne-prone skin thrice daily. Sunscreen needs to be used daily. Only if you have active lesions, then you need to apply these creams. Clindamycin gel on the active acne lesions in the morning and Retino-A (Tretinoin) 0.025 % cream at night on the entire face. You may also use Clindamycin 1 % gel during the day for your inflammatory acne. Ideally, I would also suggest adding an oral antibiotic like Doxycycline for your inflammatory acne.

I hope this helps.

Regards.
