Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am on Protonix, Nexium, Metoprolol succinate, synthroid, Lorazepam, and intravenous Zofran. I am a female of 70 years old with GERD (gastrointestinal reflux disease), tachycardia, and hypothyroidism.

Last month, I had a left mastectomy with four lymph nodes removed, three positives for cancer, chronic pain lumbar spondylitis end stage. There is kidney injury due to using many NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Having increased nausea and vomiting, lost 8 lbs and had intravenous fluids Zofran yesterday. I ate a small chicken pot pie and vomited. Vomit has a forest green color. No upper abdominal pain, just nausea, and vomiting. Bowel movements are normal to semi-solid brown color.

Thank you.

Hi.

Welcome to icliniq.

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

Multiple problems, so let us take them one by one:

1. From your description, it seems you have breast cancer. To know further details about it, please upload histopathology report and CT (computed tomography) or PET (positron emission tomography) scan report.

2.Has any type of chemotherapy for this cancer started?

3. How serious is renal failure? It is better to consult a nephrologist who can adjust your medications to reduce further damage to your kidney.

4. If possible, upload all lab results for review.

5. Blood pressure is well controlled.

6. Take a full dose of Zofran (Ondansetron) for vomiting, but if it is due to chemotherapy, it may take some time, or you can try intravenous Zofran.

I hope it will be helpful if further details can be provided after reviewing your above lab results.

Thank you for consulting me.

You can always come back and reach me at icliniq.com.
