Know How Our iCliniq Doctor Helped a Mother Who Was Worried About Her Baby’s Loose Stools

#icliniq100hrs success story

A 3-year-old child's mother consulted our iCliniq doctor for a second opinion regarding her kid's loose motion. She informed our doctor that her child was not very active but at the same time not completely dull for seven days. She also said that she administered an antibiotic suspension to her child which brought the situation under control. But, when the suspension was stopped, the child got a loose motion again. She informed our iCliniq doctor that the child had no other symptoms such as fever but, the baby's condition deteriorated when she was exposed to evening sunlight. After elaborating on the symptoms, she asked our doctor to suggest medication and an appropriate diet to speed up her child's recovery.

Our iCliniq doctor carefully assessed the child's condition and prescribed medications along with ORS (oral rehydration solution) for five days. He advised the mother to watch for dehydration, lethargy, and whether the child was refusing food. Our doctor then told the mother that if the condition did not improve or worsen, they had to take the child to the nearest hospital. He also requested her to check if the quantity and number of motions the child had in a day is decreasing, as it will show that the child is improving.

The mother responded back saying her child had recovered from the loose motion but got a slight fever right after for three days. She said the fever occurred only at night, whereas during the day, the child was well and playing actively. According to the mother, there were no notable symptoms other than the child's poor food intake.

Our iCliniq doctor after reading through the follow-up query, responded by saying if the fever was below 100 degrees Fahrenheit, there was nothing to worry about. He then prescribed an oral suspension just in case the temperature went above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. He also recommended consulting a pediatrician if the temperature remained above 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more for more than three days and wished the child a speedy recovery.

The mother who consulted us was satisfied with the answers and appreciated our doctor's quick response. She then thanked our iCliniq doctor for explaining everything in detail.
