Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female. I started gym to lose weight. After 10 months I lost around 26.46 Ibs and after 6 months into the gym, my hair started shedding vigorously. Also, I had a lot of dandruff. After 10 months I took some diet pills to lose the last few pounds. I also underwent a stressful time recently when I was undergoing a breakup. I have lost around 60 % of my hair volume and it is really making me cry so bad. The thinning is happening on the front, center, and sides of the head. I had really long and thick hair earlier. Please help me. What condition am I going through? I researched a lot and I thought maybe it was telogen effluvium. I tried Minoxidil but it started causing dark circles and wrinkles on my skin. I am currently taking biotin supplements and having a healthy diet. I just want to know a natural cure. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

You are suffering from androgenic alopecia and telogen effluvium. Hair loss from telogen effluvium will stop and regrow within six months (average time) but androgenic alopecia requires treatment with Minoxidil 2 % lotion twice daily for about 6 to 12 months. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.
