I found it online while researching so I am trying my luck here. I have been living in another country along with my six-year-old daughter. She has been having stomach issues for more than a month now. It started with stomach cramps and not pain where the cramps would last for a few seconds and go away and come. This would keep happening throughout the day for four to five times and after two weeks cramps went away. However, her bowel movements have been consistently high like four to six times a day, and even after 30 days, it is still the same. Did a stool test for bacteria and it came back negative, CRP < 5 and she has been on probiotics for more than 10 days now. Bowel movements at the start of the day will be normal and then during the end of the day move towards the mushy stool. She had weight loss during the first two weeks along with stomach issues and now stomach cramps are not there, she has come back to 41 pounds again. I am so worried. Can you please suggest it to me if you suspect anything bad?

I have read your query and understand your concern. Her history of pain is long and there is also weight loss. Have you done an ultrasonogram? Also one must keep in mind about malabsorption syndrome. How are her activities? Is there any thyroid issue? Is there any family history of weight loss or tuberculosis (TB) and others? Kindly share details for suggestions.

Her pain was there only for two weeks and then it went away. Now the issue is only with stool frequency and she is very active throughout the day and has no family history of thyroid or TB etc., but when I research a little on the internet it is pointing to Crohn's which is really bothering me, doctor. I suggest you not to search online too much. As your child is active and playful, you can continue Probiotics (Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium) and homemade food. Avoid junk food. Watch for recurring abdominal pain. Else consult a pediatric gastroenterologist for further suggestions and treatment. I hope this will help you.
